CENTER
FOR GROUP STUDIES UPDATE SPRING
2005
Spring
greetings!
We are past the midpoint in
our Spring semester but things
at CGS never seem to wind down!
We are always planning something.
Summer workshop registration
is underway and we will be celebrating
our graduates and 15 year anniversary
in May.
Our
Programs
The Center for Group Studies
(CGS) had a productive winter
and spring. We began our Spring
Training Program on February
7 and held our Weekend Training
Program March 4-6. Both programs
had a number of returning
students as well as new faces.
Our next Weekend Training
Program, May 20-22, is fully
registered with students from
locations including Nova Scotia,
Germany and Texas. We're also
offering four week Summer
Workshops that run June 6
through July 27. Registration
forms may be downloaded from
our website.
2005
AGPA Conference
We had a grand old time at
this year's AGPA Conference
in New York on March 7-12.
Our AGPA booth proved popular
for conference goers. Many
people stopped by to chat
with faculty and staff, picked
up materials and signed up
for our mailing list. We handed
out pens with the CGS logo
and articles on group written
by our faculty members. On
the less academic and sweeter
side, our Dove chocolates
were a big hit! We continue
to feed people well.
CGS Faculty Members Gail Brown,
Phyllis Cohen, Jacqueline
Fish, Lena Furgeri, Martha
Gunzburg, Lucy Holmes, Ronnie
Levine, Louis Ormont, Robert
Weinstein and Ellen Wright
presented at panels throughout
the conference. Ronnie Levine
was made a Fellow of AGPA,
and was honored at a ceremonial
presentation.
CGS
Open House
CGS held a successful Open
House on a lovely, sunny Sunday,
April 17. Faculty and staff
enthusiastically chatted with
prospective students and everyone
enjoyed wonderful snacks and
cocktails
15th
Anniversary Celebration
We're celebrating our 15th
Anniversary on May 21, 2005
from 5-8 PM with a cocktail
party and buffet featuring
live music and dancing at
the beautiful Columbia University
Faculty House. Please share
this exciting evening with
us. Live music, a gorgeous
view of the city and delicious
food and cocktails make this
the perfect way to kick off
your summer.
We are creating a Fundraising
Journal for the 15th Anniversary
Celebration, which will be
handed out to everyone who
attends. Anyone may place
an ad to honor or acknowledge
CGS. Contact us for more information
on the fundraising journal
and celebration
